The printer itself is pretty small and lightweight, so ideal for putting up on a shelf or out of the way.
It’s a fast and good quality scan too, so I had no problems there. The scanner is great in that it allows you to scan images and upload them directly to a cloud service like Dropbox or straight onto Facebook. In terms of other features, the printer also acts as a fax, scanner, and copier. The printer also fits 150 pages at a time, which should be enough to ensure you’re not having to go into your cupboards to fetch more paper every time you need to print something. Sadly, the largest size you can print is A4, bigger paper simply won’t fit, but for home office use, I should think A4 does the job. When I printed my test photograph (a beautiful self-portrait that I happened to have on file from my time spent reviewing webcams), everything on the page looked just as it did on screen.

This one is an inkjet printer so it’s significantly faster than a laser printer (though the ink is more expensive.) One single-sided full-page document takes about eight seconds to print, while a full colour photograph takes just 38 seconds.Īnd the colours look very good too. Then comes the actual printing, and boy is it fast. (Paper, thankfully is always reasonably consistently priced, given that all printers tend to at least fit plain A4!) Not only that but speed, volume, and ease of printing also vary massively, as does ink usage and therefore running costs.
Black and white documents look very similar across all models, but print anything in colour and the differences are immediately apparent. What’s more surprising is how much the actual print quality varies. I’m afraid setup is still, often, a pain - although some companies have made a better fist of it than others. In theory at least.īut in an age where e verything is smart, surely wireless printers must have got smarter too? That’s what I hoped when I set out to test and review the best printers currently available… only to be disappointed. The only advantage is that once you’ve done it, you shouldn’t have to mess around with it again.
